RSR300XL heaters in overflow?

I have been collecting parts for my tank and finally got it full with water. I have 2x visitherm 200w in the overflow connected to a inkbird ITC-306a. I would prefer to have it in the sump but I can only fit one in the refugium section diagonal. I could stack them on top of each other on this diagonal but then they would be touching. In the overflow they they are pretty tight to the plumbing and could potentially touch PVC. Is that a potential point of disaster or will the water keep the pvc fine like when you try lighting a plastic bottle with water in it? I plan on keeping the two probes from the inkbird in the same section as the heaters.

Should I just keep the heaters in the overflow or put them in the refugium stacked? I could also just go refugeless (possibly convert the ATO to one later) and remove the baffle as its a pretty small chamber (about 4% of the total tank volume) and I doubt it will do much. It looks more for show?

I originally had mine in the refugium on my XL300 sump but then I moved them to the skimmer chamber. I use 2x200w IM helio heaters with control. I keep the temp probe in the refugium though.

I.keep my baffle in and just started using it as a chaeto refugium with good success so far.

I wouldn't put the probes in the same section in close proximity to the heaters. Put them one chamber before or after in the sump. I keep a separate probe in the DT for back up.

Yeah I think I'll just remove the baffle and put them in the now big skimmer chamber with the probes below the filter cups. I'll worry about a refuge later lol.

I have one heater on the front glass of the refugium section placed diagonally and the second on the refugium baffle placed diagonally.

I took the suction cup off the clip thingy and used it as a spacer and just stacked them in the refuge diagonally.

Now the Chaeto will be nice and toasty.

Do you mean the overflow area in the display? I wouldn’t recommend putting a heater in there, because the water level in the back overflow can and does fluctuate.

That should work fine as long as you can slide that sock holder out cleanly to change media.

I originally had my heater placed similar to that but then switched to the IM heaters which are only like 6 inches long with mounting magnets.
