Is there any point of this. I have a sps tenuis that i got as a frag about 4 months ago. I had to leave for a little over a week and came back to this picture. I think this was a maricultured peice i believe. Anyway something p*ssed off a few of my Acros and Montis for sure.
KH = 8.4
CA = 450
MG = 1450. Red Sea test of course says its perfect but that test is worthless
Nitrate = 12
Phosphate = .08 - .16
Before I left I increased my max lighting time on my AI26 HD with my 4 bulb Ati T5's and I increased Alk KH by 1 ml daily because my system needed it. While i was gone i had one large turbo snail die.
Also my CB pink tip and my Fox Flame on the frag plug sunlit section whitened at the base edge of the frag plug and i had 2 montis lighten and get ticked.
I have since dropped my AI 26 back down to levels before they all got ticked and am doing my weekly water change. The balance of my corals including SPS are doing great.
I am trying to see if i can save this stupid frag i have grown attached to that was doing good before i left.
I was thinking of trying to frag it down after I dipped in to a Lugol's Iodine dip. Is there any point of doing a Lugols Iodine Dip or is this just a hail mary. I have no experience with Lugols and really have never read about any dipping of Sps when facing this issue. I have heard of just fragging but have a like 1 out of 5 success rate with that after Stn Rtn sets in. Thank you in advance for your thoughts.
