You could put a little plumber's grease on the seal for the time being. I would imagine the seal dried out if its not damaged.

You should be able to find maybe print an o-ring chart online to figure the size out. I can't imagine that reef octopus made there own o-rings.

It might be easier to find the o-ring online if you know the size.
