I cannot for the life of me get this bounce mushroom to stay down, I've tried glueing and using a cup with a top on it but somehow it always ends up up side down or something else. Is rubberbanding with a weak band a viable option? I've heard of people doing it but I need input

I’ve had this problem too. I put a small plastic cup with coral rubble in it and let them take hold for a week then glued the rubble. But sometimes they let go. Frustrating. I’m at 50/50 success rate. Plus mushrooms are so slimy that they’re hard to deal with. And they retract in size out of water.

I've tried the rubble but for some reason it still has issues

Same here. I had ric grab hold of a big piece. I glued the big piece of rubble down. A month or so later, I had glued rubble and mushroom floating around the tank. I posted a question here earlier this year. No clear answers. Mushrooms are just ;Yuck

I dont have issues like this with any of my mushrooms, bounce or jawbreaker. When they detach and float away, they arent happy.
The only time I had any detach is when my lights were out for 3 days.
If you have a basket or cup, put them 3" under the rubble, essentially burying them. In a few weeks it will have likely "walked" to the top of the cup towards the light and will likely attach to any given piece of rubble on its own. You might also have a few booger babies on the pieces of rubble so be mindful of that as well.
