Rubbing in QT

These fish have been together for several weeks and am in my second week of .5 therapeutic levels of cupramine. No signs of ich and all fish seem to be fine except blue Tang rubs a lot. Eats nori daily and is a pig just curious to know if it's something I should be worried about. Can this be caused by cupramine or is there more from people's experience. Thanks

I would do a 5 min FW dip to check for flukes

Anybody else . Please . Blue Tang has been in there for 7 weeks . Didn't rub until cupramine was added.

How are you testing your copper levels?

I don’t think the rubbing is caused by cupramine. Agree with FW dip for flukes check. I personally would also use a Hanna high range copper checker. Although, I have no experience with the Salifert.

Copper may suppress flukes but will not kill them. If you find flukes during the FW dip treat with Prazi twice 5-7 days apart. This can be done with copper just make sure to aerate the water heavily as Prazi depletes O2.

I will give it a shot. I did a 60 percent water change yesterday afternoon and treated it with prazi. I have a bubbler and hand on back filter for aeration. I will see if this helps and will keep you informed. I hope your right. See what happens. Thanks
