Ruby Red Dragonet - What do I need to know?

Ya know, I do remember seeing one wrestle with a bristle worm once or twice when my pod pop was low. I know I've subsisted on some pretty unappetizing stuff in graduate school when funds were low

I would make sure u have pods crawling on your Glass all over and a good fuge. they are very nice fish but they always are eating pods.keeping up with the pod population can be hard.there are ppl that have got some trained to eat frozen but it requires some patience and time.

Slightly off topic Daniel, but how do you like your gold assessor? I've always wanted to get but never knew anyone that kept them.

Definitely got lots of personality! Quickly becoming one of my favorite fish. He hid for the first few days in QT, but now he is out all the time and even greets me at the glass. LOL

They are similar in that they need a large pod population. I've heard you can get them eating frozen, but they still need the pods to graze on all day. For QT, I'd suggest TTM + prazi. You'll want to be sure you have ample pods to feed during QT and it's a good time to try to wean it onto frozen foods if you can.
Never keep one, but you recommend is very sound I QT all my fish :-)

I loved my ruby red dragonet. So much fun to watch. Unfortunately I lost him to a power head. He was very small. Just a heads up

I have a scooter 2 x spotted and a mandarin, they are all as fat as mud, fingers crossed, feed a cube of the frozen lobster eggs every day, they love them

I have a female that enjoys Cyclops. Small enuf for them to eat.....
I will go for the male next time, very Kool fish.

Retrieve deep from the past. Beautiful species, the S. sycorax
