I have read that the mandarin dragonettes do not necessarily need to be QT for ich due to them having a thicker mucous layer than other fish. I was curious if this applies to the ruby red dragonette as well. They remind me more of a scooter blenny, so I really just wasn't sure.

In preparation for what is coming, yes I know to QT everything, just was hoping to skip TTM, and focus on getting it to eat

My personal opinion is to qt every fish. Not just for ich but for any other parasites. Internal or external.
Ich can attack the gills of such fish as there is not enough thick mucous there. And ich does attack gills first in most fish.

I think if you want to QT fish to prevent Ich from entering your tank then you have to QT everything with water, everything. If you don't than QT to to stop ich from enter your tank does not work. I don't do this. I QT to ensure my fish appears healthy and eating well. I like them to be fat and eating well before I add them to DT. IME, Ich is not an important pathogen in my tank. It is an important pathogen in many people's tank.
In 40 years of marine aquarium keeping I find that adding a fat heathy fish into my aquarium doesn't cause significant problem with disease introduction.

Sorry. Typo have to edit

If you’re going to QT then you have to be diligent about it. You have to QT everything (fish, inverts) that enters your DT. Taking short cuts on not treating for certain diseases will only open the door for possible outbreaks

Im way to paranoid about adding any fish to my reef without qt. They've been disease free for too long and I wouldn't want to introduce a fish I wasn't sure about
