thanks for reply" wy not the media block because thought had to get the bacteria into them
and would you use your socks and filter floss
Good question. If you are using Brightwell export properly in a low flow area, it will be working differently to remove nitrates vs working like live rock. I use Seachem matrix in a similar fashion for nitrate removal. IMO you don’t want a bunch of stuff in your tank doing work until there is a reason for it to be in there.
I see no reason to run socks or floss as there should be nothing to remove yet.
So here is how I would add your stuff once you start adding livestock
Lights after cycle complete at lower intensity and short in cycle like maybe 6 hours.
Filtersocks. Floss is a plus but not needed IMO. Just an expense and another maintenance item. Use once you add fish.
Skimmer as soon as you add fish. Maybe only run at night until your wc can’t keep up w nutrient control. Then 24/7.
Next, Xport blocks when you need skimmer on all day. Follow instructions for optimum results!
Pellet reactor once everything else cannot keep up! They are tricky and can do more harm than good! Read up when the time comes and go sloooooow!
Reactor w carbon once you get stocked and water clarity becomes an issue.
Rowaphos is super efficient! Use 3 tablespoons in the supplied bag for 141 total gallons and hang it in a filter sock. It stopped my tank from .12 to .03 in 2 days! Be careful with this one and ask a lot before you use it.
