Hi,
. Just a question about running my skimmer while my tank is fallow. I had a nasty disease kill all my fish in my tank so now my tank is fallow. I do still have my CUC and and some LPS and softies. Should I continue to run my skimmer without any fish or should I turn it off.

Then I have a second question about a QT? I am going to buy a small QT tank soon because of what just happened to my main display. When I setup my QT tank, can I transfer water from the main display over to the QT so it doesn't have to cycle OR should I not because I had a disease (brook) that killed all the fish?

I would skim really dry until I find the new sweet spot and dose nutrients if need be

A lot of people FORGET that skimming provides a secondary function......to oxygenate the water and to do gas exhanges...

Of course, run your skimmer. CORALS ARE ANIMALS too

.
