running 2 skimmers

going to run 2 skimmers on my 36 gallon as I don`t have the room to put a big one in my sump so going with a Tunze 9001 and a Hydor Slim Skim Skimmer should be almost rated for atleast 50 gallons , I just want chrystal clear water my tunze only does light skims so getting another space is tight ,Polish my water ever week but still hazey any thoughts

I assume you are concerned about hazy water. If so, have you tried a 100 micron filter sock?

no room for socks only a 10 gallon sump have 7 inches of clearence between DT ansd sump small tanks have a sock on my return but doesn`t catch much

If water clarity is the issue, I agree filter sock and/or a UV sterilizer.

Even carbon would help. On a 36g not sure if I'd run one skimmer. Water changes would be enough.

do carbon but still not happy with the look of water also had a major algae bloom old pic hasve done new aqura scape no skull

32 lbs of dry rock in a 36 g and 20lbs of lava rock in the sump tank is 5 months old

Hang on the back filter should help polish over the skimmer. I maintain my father-in-laws 60g tank, 10 years running with an Aquaclear. It could possibly even replace the sump unless your set on keeping the skimmer.

no keeping it as I have done with all my tanks put my so called corals in there seem to come back after 6 months seems to be better water in there for recovery

If your fighting a algae bloom, I'd suggest uv over a second skimmer. Or depending on your dimensions, one larger skimmer, a tunze 9004 is about the same footprint as the 9001 that your currently using and is designed to handle more bioload. Prolly can get rid of some of the rock in the sump and make some room? As some said above, a 4" sock @75-100 micron would be perfect to polish the water.

HI, if you have one of the skimmers ,i would only use one,
agree a dual cartridge hang on back would help tremendously .

I think I found my problem my skimmer pump is going was making clunking noises today new one coming
