Running a UV horizontal

Only way I can set up this uv I picked up is if I put it on the back of the stand and run is horizontally.

Is that going to be ok?
 
Yes, many recommend horizontal over vertical placements. Just make sure the inlet and outlet are on the top.

I run mine horizontally. I don't see why it would be an issue for you.

Ensure you get the air out before turning it on, asside from that shouldn't be a problem at all.

Leaving air pockets in one can lead to shattered quarts tubes, both expensive and dangerous.

What would be the best and safest way to burp it to make sure no air in it. Also should the outtake side be at the bottom or the top?

I just tilt it up and down a few times when I start flowing, you'd need the outlet facing up for that. I don't think it'd matter after you had it purged, but I keep my outlet pointing up to keep air out of it.
