Hi guys,

I have a Tunze 3155 with a 5 gallon reservoir which needs to be filled every few days. I would like to set up an ATO directly from my mixing station in the basement (which always has a bucket full of RODI water).

Is it easy to convert the Tunze to be able to do this? If not, what other options do I have to run the ATO system from my basement to the main level?

Thanks!

Should be pretty easy if you have some very basic wiring skills. Basically you disconnect the included pump from the wire clips. You then get a relay that matches the voltage of the Tunze pump, and you would connect it to where the pump would plug in to. Then you wire the relay to an outlet or extension cord, run the cord down to the mixing station, and put a pump down there that can handle the head height. Voila!
You shouldn't even need to use the same size tubing.

Hope this finds you well!

Just saw this video today which you might be interested in.

I was wondering if the original Tunze pump will be powerful enough to pump to one floor above.

You can absolutely do the above mentioned DIY relay option, or Tunze sells a commercial ready-made version of this for the 3155 called a "Tunze Switched Socket". It does the same thing but for $70, and saves the DIY part if you're not comfortable with it. Just run some wire between the 3155 unit down to the Socket plugged into an outlet. Either option solves your problem, just depends on what you're comfortable doing!

Any decent peristaltic pump should be able to pump up there.

Avast marine has one but i dont like its tubing it comes with. If u buy it get a few extra tubings

Thank you. That sounds doable. Can you please point me to what kind of relay I need and where to find one?
