running heater and "back up" heater

Maybe this is a dumb question, and maybe there are other types of gear that could be used but. . . my aquarium is in a room that can be drafty. . . and there is always the possibility that the door to the room will get left open (door to outside). . . could you run your main heater at like 78 and then have a back up heater set to like 75, just in case temps in the room drop below what your regular heater could handle???

I run 2 heaters to back up each other in my 90G. Both together are completely capable of keeping the tank exactly where I want it temp wise but also if one of them dies suddenly, just one of them can keep the tank heated by itself although it may run a little cooler than when both are operational. I also use an Ink bird controller for both to ensure the temps stay in the range I set up.
