Running ozone

Anyone running ozone? I saw a fellow reefer run the reef octopus or150. He says that it's beneficial for sps systems. Running it through the reactor is supposed to be better than running in through a protein skimmer. Is it worth the money?

It’s worth it if you like crystal clear water all the time. Probably not the cheapest way to get clear water but it’s a sure thing.

The only problem with ozone is that it's a respiratory irritant and can be toxic. So you must run charcoal to clean the air coming out of the ozone reactor. You also need to measure orp with it. These days people just run a uv sterilizer which does a lot of the same functions without the toxicity and carbon costs. It's not necessary to grow sps, and most do not use it.
