Phos stays at .06-.08. Nitrate current 3ppm. Using neo nitro. Corals are happy, i know you shouldnt mess with it. But considering raising to 5ppm. Alk is 8.6. Tanks been up for about 1.5 years.

What got you thinking that a 2 ppm increase would be interesting?

I was wondering how i would figure out my daily dose, figured if i have a higher concentration of nitrate i would have a harder time accidentally bottoming out.

Ah that makes sense. That is typically why I stay between 5-15 so that I don't have to worry about it

A safety margin, makes sense. You might test more often to get a better sense of how quickly nitrate is depleted.

Just my experience here on the other side of that I pull po4 faster than than no3 so I dose po4 to control my no3. Problem is if I dose to much po4 I can actually bottom out n03. Make sense?
I feed reef roids pretty heavily, so my phosphate stays in check. If i stop feeding they can bottom out. Also dosing 1ml of acropower daily in my 29g

I’m presently doseing phosphate and it’s a moving target for me . The tank is super stressed. But I will nail it . I’m shooting for.07 , but I’m under or over . Today’s test revealed 129 ppb . It’s getting closer.
but to the thread .2 is to much it , stops calcification at.19 ppm
