I was told I can run my protein skimmer while using copper power treatment (fish only in DT), is this true I read some articles that say no.

Not a problem for copper. It can be problematic for other medications.

Just keep in mind whatever amount of water you remove from the tank with the skimmer will reduce your Cu level. Not a huge deal (Unless you are skimming out a full cup per day) just keep an eye on your Cu level.
