Hi guys,

I did a tank transfer/upgrade a couple of months ago and added a lot of new rockwork and sand with some of the old rockwork. I did have some issues with the original tank that had fixed itself overtime. (hair algae, cyano, ect) I am now again going through through the ugly stages with this reef but it is considerably better than the initial ugly stages in the previous tank. My problem now is this rust colored dust all over my sand. I m not 100% sure what it is, the cause or if any of my invertebrates/corals/fish may be at risk. Any help with an ID would be appreciated.

Diatoms.

They'll go away on their own in a month or so.
