Also, after stripping it back you can treat it with rust converter. It will reverse the oxidation of the iron and create a seal coat on the metal which can be painted over. Suitable for light rusting. If the metal is heavily pitted, you need to calculate whether the remaining thickness of metal will be strong enough.

here’s a pic of wat it looks like I sanded it most came off I didn’t c any cracks or holes

If the surface is smooth, treat with rust converter then paint and you,re fine. Pitting in the metal or scaling rust would be more concerning.

I would use a grinder or drill with a wire wheel to strip off as much as possible, then sand any where that needs it. The wire wheel should take almost all of the paint and rust off. Wipe it down with paint thinner or denatured alcohol. 2 coats of primer. Then 1-2 coats or enamel paint.

I sanded reall can c some of the actual metal but definitely gettin a power sander arm is killlin me thnks everyone

K SO I USED A GRINDER REMOVED THE RUST GOT IT ALMOST TO THE METAL SO SOME TINY DENTS CAN I FIX THEM N SHOULD I WORRY
