Back at the end of April, I came home from work to my Gyre sucking air into the tank because the water was a little lower than normal. My brain quickly decided to get water back into the tank to remedy the situation, just chalking it up to the auto top off not re-filling the tank and went on with some other chores around the house. I was out of the house for a few hours and when i returned i ran into the same problem. So this time i knew there was a bigger issue and began to look for the leak. Thats when i found the large split at the top of the front panel. I immediately drained the tank down below the crack an inch or so. I thought that would solve the problem and would allow me time to contact the tank builder to find out how to remedy the situation. Well as time pasted i noticed there was still some small drips appearing and i began to follow the seam down and thats were i found the smaller split developing about midway down the seal. Once i got ahold of the builder he said that this was a bad situation and that i was lucky the front panel didn't detach. he began to say that it should have had a brace across the top of the tank, etc. etc. (i would think the guy designing the tank would have know this from the begging, especially since I didn't ask for rimless) This is less than a year from getting the tank and setting it up, and luckily under full replacement warranty. He gave me 2 options, replace it with glass that would take up to a month or so, or he had everything he needed to do it in acrylic and could be done in two weeks. So with a tank full of around 2 dozen fish and a few corals, i decided to go with the fast option to be the easiest on my stock. There was one good thing i thought i would get out of the new tank build, and that was to actually have the tank built the way i wanted it in the first place, with an external overflow, and he said it would be no problem. Well it must be a problem because again i didn't get an external overflow.
Well it took a little more than two weeks, and i should have know his promises didn't mean anything because the first tank was massively late. I picked up the tank just last weekend. As there is a big difference between two weeks and two months, i lost a majority of my fish stock and all my corals. Now I can take partial blame for that not being prepared to hose my stock, but i thought i had what i needed for a two week hold. Two weeks went, then three, then a month and up to that point i was fine, but after that the fish started to go, one here and one there and that added up. I kept telling the builder that trying to get him to speed up but it never seemed to phase him at all and i never seamed a priority to him, he was more worried about his service clients than me. He never once said sorry for anything. But i've ranted enough and sorry it got a bit long

The real reason i'm doing this post is i need the opinion of tank buildiers, or anyone with experience, about this new acrylic tank. The quality is just as bad as the quality of the glass tank i received. No polished or smoothed edges. In a few of the seams there are multiple air bubbles. Is this something i should be worried about? I would really hate to get back into with this builder and may just chalk it up as a loss if this isn't structurally sound.

Any input would be appreciated.

Needless to say the past few months have been a disaster. But here is possibly the start of the new tank.

Ummmm. I wouldn't say super huge. Other members here have messaged me with there interactions with them and some on other forums. But the way the web page and initial conversations seemed like it was a pretty big company, but i would have to reconsider that now.

I am not a tank builder but I know there is not supposed to be bubbles in the joints. If it was me I would get my money back and buy a Tank from someone who can stand by there work. If he was good at it he wouldn't have sent you the tank back with a potential leak. Or worse it holds water for a few months and it blows out .
