This build has been a year in the planning. Just added the first fish 4 green chromis. Planning a mixed Reef, mostly Softy and LPS some "easy" SPS

Thanks, I am looking into Carbon dosing maybe nopox, I have never done it before. any advice on the best method for a mixed reef?

Here is my ATO system the osmolators pump is in the blue storage container and the line runs through the attic and down the wall to the tank. I use a sprinkler timer to top off the ro container once a week and have a float and alarm incase it over fills. A little worried the line will freeze in the winter so I may run a pipe heater on part of the line in the attic. The attic line is inside a 1in PVC to keep me from stepping on it or animals chewing it in the attic.

New red sea screen top and a few zoa frags. Tank is looking good lots of diatoms added 7 trocks for clean up crew.

My Tang has Ich

I trapped him and he is back in QT and looking ok. Cant decide if I should go fish less for 76 days to kill all that got in the DT. What do you think? I only have 4 cromis and a clown gobie in there now.

I did QT the tang for 3 weeks, without meds, before introducing him. He showed no signs of illness, but I will preemptively treat all new inhabitants from now on. learned my lesson.

Treating with Ich-x 2.5mil in a 5gal qt also 5 min RO dip. Ordered some PraziPro as well.

7 nems, clown, cleaner shrimp and emerald crab moved from old tank this weekend and looking good. One jealous dog as well.

Tank update. All fish are back in the old tank after a 2 week copper treatment. letting the ick die for 76 days. Lost the tang. But on the plus side corrals are looking great and cal alk and mag are stable with my dosing. Had a little hair alge bloom but pulled it all out.

Those BTA's are thriving in there! This has the potential to be stunning once you get it is stocked. Well done so far, even if you have had troubles!

New algae reactor to help fight algae growth in the dt. Realized a proline skimmer and carbon would not be enough. Two fish 150 reactor rapped in 4:1 red blue led strip with cobalt mj-1200 pump. Added about baseball size cheto from lfs and running the light 30% for now 12hr on opposite of dt lights.

I wrapped 3/4 of the tube in black vinyl to limit light spilling, but left 1/4 open to see how full it is and because the lights are cool looking.
