About 10 minutes ago a chromis went in the overflow weir and somehow got sucked up the quarter inch gap into the pipes and is now somewhere in the plumbing!
He's causing a lot of problems right now and I need any ideas on how to get him out, dead or alive honestly at this point I realize the former is more likely, but it just really needs to happen ASAP.
All suggestions are welcomed!!

Sincerely,

stuck wetpetz

If you can ,turn off the return and take the plumbing apart.
If you still can’t get to him try some RO tubing to push him through.

Depending on your plumbing, my guess would be a gate and/or ball valve.

When one of my fish went for a ride, I have a gate valve right before my full siphon enters the sump. It's where I found my starry blenny. He was a little bit torn up, but made a full recovery. I now put a strainer on my overflow pipes so this cannot happen again if a fish makes it into the overflow.

Pipes coming apart is not feasible at the moment, but R.O. tubing is a super decent idea... thank youuuuu!!

If you ever can work on your plumbing, making every valve a true union and adding some additional union's really helps for this and to clean out inevitable bio growth long term. Also, as said above, a strainer is a really good thing.b
Good luck, I hope you get him out.

Here's the fix, cheap plastic gutter guard and zip ties

At worse, you may have to cut the plumbing to free it and add a simple UNION or connecter as it is called to put the pipe right back together
