Sabella's 450L mixed reef build thread

Got the zen reef rack. Was going to get a couple customs from them but figured id just get their regular narrow rack for now. There work is top notch, only 55$ shipped for this. My other racks are junkie bent acrylic with fisherprice magnets and cost 30 bucks.

is it basically the same thing as the BAO one? what kind of thickness of glass will it hold onto strong enough to hold all those slots?

I was looking at my buddys building an obsessions one but i didnt like the look of them. The racks he had looked like they where ruffed up epoxy/plastic opposed to the zen reef is nice,clear, and shiney The zen reef looks more slick to me. I have it on 5/8ths with no problem at all, Its rated for 1/2 inch but positive it could hold as much weight as i would need to put on it. The only issue ive seen so far, is when trying the pull the frag plugs out, you move the whole entire frag rack with it because of the silicone holders . But theres plastic screws for you to take the silicone pad out. Other then that im very happy i got it. Tgc had them at reefapalooza, and passed them up. I payed the same price now shipped.

that's awesome to know. about to order one. well nice that they didn't just copy the design but improved on it, it sounds like. thanks for the feedback!

lol they didnt really "improve it" i just like the look of them better. The bao one looks like i can throw it into the street and run it over with my car and itll still be "intact". The zenn reef one looks and feels delicate opposed to bao, like if i dropped it pretty hard on accident its vulnerable to break. Raul text me a pic of it when u get it

For an extra 20 bucks you can get the second magnet. But if anyone were to go that route, any custom you get, they add the second magnet anyway. At first i was going with a 2 1/2 foot 4 inches out custom, but figured id just get their regular rack first to see how it is. Looks great though i just put mine in

also for the first time figured out who the only male was. The top fella is a male, who is alot larger then the others. The yellow is more pronounced, and has yellow across the top and bottom fins oppsed to the females just having a blue stripe

Those orange polyps really shine. Looks great. Your purple haze looks good, the filaments get really long on it once it settles in

Whats pretty crazy is im acually not spending alot alot of money, most of these frags were either free/trade or less then half the growing price. Im very very veryy fortunate to have a local forum that contains some collectors, and countless amounts of local reefers i kno. I dont even sell frags + dont plan on fragging anything unless a buddy wants a piece regardless of the price. With some people its a shame, seen some kid on facebook post a 2 polyp walt disny frag the otherday that he prob just dropped 400 on makes me sick to my stumic
