Looking good. You can make a portal for under $5 if you're good at DIY. A 3-4" ABS coupler from HD, a small piece of acrylic, some weldon and a few plastic screws. I used metal self tappers. Works great.

You know, i figured i am going to make a diy model, as all of the ones that are out are only about 4-8 inches long, just to play safe im going to make a longer version so hopefully it doesnt leak under pressure. I have the acrylic, but cant seem to find plastic screws anywere lol

Lolol, dont feel bad, i confiscated my 15 year old little sisters nikon, she has her cellphone for now =) . just need a macro lense but didnt realize how expensive they are. Have to figure it out somehow because with the money for a macro lense that ill only use it to take pictures of coral, i can buy myself a rr angry bird lol

Yea i find them popping up here and there, maybe i will but in the meantime going to try to see if my friends hopefully have one lying around

cannot stress this enuff,Wether you have a little nano with a couple corals, or a full blown growin collection mixed reef, you guys HAVE to dip and inspect all of your corals. Wether they come from your local reefer, local shop, or a top reputable vendor, you should always and i repeat always inspect every nook and crany of your coral. You guys thing aefws are bad, the spiders are almost unkillable and will haunt you untill you tear you tank down and light it on fire

Edit - also adding that the black line in this pic is the corner piece of an eggcrate, so you can compare the size difference. These spiders are extremely rare but they do make it into home aquaria, they are very tiny and hard to even see with the naked eye, i thank god this didnt make it into my tank. My six line in my frag tank will make work of it untill i feel confident enuff for this piece to go in as a payed a pretty penny for it.

I have no idea, i thought they were chitons, but they look like little flukes as they were swimming/darting aroumd quickly!! I wouldnt of found either of them if i didnt cut the frags from the plug

Depends. If i spend big bucks on something thats almost fully encrusted, just cut thr bottom off the plug and glue it to another disk. If its fairly fresh or is starting to take on the glue ill clip it from there and throw the plug out

I have had several conversations with vendors and read a few articles with some folks discarding all of the incoming plugs before placing in QT as preventative maintenance. Some of the coral tissue may be left behind but ensures less chance of introducing unwanted pests or bacteria into the system later. But I understand depending on the amount of encrusting. I was even advised to do this by a reputable vendor at an expo I attended. As is evident in you acro spider photo. Never can be too careful!

Yea frag plugs are filthy(sometimes not) especially the fired ceramic grows algae like its nobodys buisness. If it wasnt for bryopsis and any type of pest i would keep it. But i rather sacrifice the plug with a little coral on it then eventually having a problem down the line.

Will have some pictures of all my fish soon. Want to go with a nice rare pair or no pair of some sweet bottom dweller soon (beside manderins). Need something to feast on pods, or just scoot around minding their own buisness that my tang isnt going to murder. Open to suggestions

Yea there sweet, also my lfs got about 10 borbs and about 15 in all different size fatheads/sunburst both for dirt cheap. I was originally going to get an earls instead of my lineatus but i bet my girlfriend $1000 dollars that atleast one of them would jump and not make it, but far so good. Im just about at my limit with fish with just maybe a small addition lol
