Sabella's 450L mixed reef build thread

One day when you start selling frags.......;)
Lol i will soon, stuffs growing slow but i like the colors so ill leave it up to my bulb combo for now. Im in the process of buying a used ati fixture to burn in my new bulbs acually. My current bulbs are like a year old, so maybe thats why everythings taking its time

What color or colors are on Voltron?
Everything, its the ultimate rainbow milli. Lol its like hot pink and royal blue, it also is starting to get yellow tips and polyps. New growth is blue has white and green polyps from what ive seen.

I may have missed it looking back through your thread, but where did you get the 'voltron' frag? I can't stop looking at it.
Theres pics somewhere in my thread of my friends colony. Unfortunantly its alot of money, and just the few people that have it dont want to give up frags lol. But i can try to ask for your guys, @CoralNerd asked me too

Must be nearly due for a full tank shot. Seeing all those frags makes me realise how lacking the reef community is in my area of Australia.
That's one fat and healthy naso tang!
Thanks! Yup yea shes a picky fatty. You guys have a local forum out there?

In Australia? There is one but it's very quiet haven't looked for others. Freshwater is still bigger then salt over here, by a long way. However captive breeding is catching on in a big way so fragging should soon to. Lfs's don't help, mine for example dislikes those who breed or frag and sell to hobbyists. They clam it's stealing business from them but won't actively do anything to improve the shop or sell captive bred fish. I can only speak for my town tho. Distance is also an issue, only certain places will post corals.

Oh wow really, freshwater, home of the ultimate coral reefland! Something doesnt sound right haha!. All my other tanks i had i just jam packed with monster colonys i used to buy directly from a import. But theres no fun in that for me, after 8-12 months your fish cant even swim because the corals get so big lol. Its not as exciting then getting a tiny coral, and after a while windups looking amazing, same with fish. I buy all my fish as small as i can. This is what r2r everyday does to you, makes you want to go out and buy every coral frag you see lol. Do you guys purchase corals online? Australia has the master surplus of incredibly hardy corals

Haha yeah it doesn't sound right, everyone wants ciclids. I haven't personally bought online yet, a lot of others have tho. The biggest problem is freight- distances and cost and a lot of suppliers won't post frags or won't post outside of a city. Brisbane has online shops that sell frags ect but they won't post outside the regional area. I'm 800km from brissy so I'm out. We do have hardy corals, the price has gone up a lot tho and hardly anyone softies anymore. All but 2 of my corals are from local collectors which is a bonus, the other 2 are from cairns marine.

Hey Sabellafella, in the photo above with the various frags, what is the reddish-pink with purple tips? The large branching coral on the right.
