Very long story short: two beautiful brains in tank which has fish and just starting with corals. All looked great. Added a new finned friend and a general unrest began. So fin friend was evicted. During this time blenny and wrasse started nipping these brains. (LFS dude was surprised! From what I’ve researched shouldn’t have been an issue but nonetheless it was.) Noticed that and holes in each of them when they stopped swelling up, no little tentacles at feeding time, etc. Dyno attack began and my sweet tank man discovered nitrate high. Brains evacuated to 5 gal isolation tank in hopes of saving but looking really pitiful. I’ve been reef roiding them & giving a little scallop. Low flow and light. I’m not savvy to all the water number stuff - frustrating, I know & I apologize. Just wondering if anyone thinks there’s hope for them. (Note: big tank went through dosing treatment and three day blackout. Looking much better and hubs said nitrates to 0 today so yay! And I’m just the wife who’s never had a fish in her life trying to help so be gentle, please.) :)

Imo they would be better off in the cycled more established tank. If they'e still getting picked on u.can protect them with a cut off top of a soda bottle with slots cut in it for water flow.
And welcome to r2r!!

Okay! Do they need to be all acclimated since the water is the same that hubby mixes for big tank, etc. and If the temp is the same?

And thank you for the welcome! Hubs has had a tank before but there’s been a lot of trial & error in the past. These corals we’re getting are beautiful but exxxpensive! As you well know
I mean, I don’t kill my shoes - right??? Lol

Shouldn' need any acclimation...
And I hear you it hurts my heart and my pocketbook when corals die....
