sad corals - what test kits should I buy?

It is an Ai prime. I actually just lowered it in hopes that it is a better height. Now it is 9-10” off of the waterline. Is this better? (Also I took the shade off after taking this pic)

Due to the height, these settings should make up the PAR loss. You can ramp down once you lower height

I have hammers, an open brain coral, trumpet coral, micromussa as well. Is it worth getting the hanna instruments over saifert? I am using a prime 16hd 14” from the top of the tank and 25” from the sand bed with the following schedule:

I think it's worth it to get Hannah for alkalinity and ultra low phosphates if they are things you will test often.

They are so easy and quick to use. Also, the digital reader is a big upfront cost, but you only gave to buy refills for the reagents later, which actually makes it the cheaper option in the long run!

Salifert for the others is reasonable.

Noted. I’ll see how often I test with a small kit I buy and then buy the hanna if I use it lots. Thanks for the suggestion!

Phosphate was 0-.05, so hard to tell but potentially 0
Mag: 1290
Alk: 8-9, again hard to tell
Calc: 400

are these numbers okay? I think phosphate might be too low. I also am considering a second light because I’m not convinced 1 prime can cover my 27” long tank even though I lowered it.

Numbers looks good and try to get Phos at range of .04 - .06 but good. Feeding alone will raise Phos as well as prolonging water changes

Along with testing what the others have recommended, these look like vermetid snails. Are they the ones you are removing? That may be part of the sadness of the hammer.

Yes I took a razor blade to them the other night. It has actually been happier since then. Thank you!
