Today I looked in the tank and spotted green hair algea. I know what I messed up to get it now I need tips on getting rid of it

I've been taking a two pronged approach of nutrient export, in this case, cheato in the fuge with a strong grow light (kessil h380), and a small army of Mexican turbo snails. It's like Santa Anna over running the Alamo.

See if any loca reefers have some stomatellas they could give you. If you were close I'd gladly give you a half dozen. I see mine spawning all the time and I have new ones every few weeks. They do an amazing job of eating the little bit of GHA I have on my rocks and powerhead. Nutrient export is also good. Pull as much GHA out as you can by hand and then use chaeto too

I know this is obvious, but manually pull out what you can. Also, if is on any rocks that you can easily remove from the tank, get a steel brush, scrub it off, rinse with tank water, and place it back in the tank.

At the first sign of gha I bought 2 mexican turbo snails online for my 40g Reefer. These snails are massive!! In hindsight I should have gotten one but I didn't pay much attention to their size description. They mowed through the gha in a little over a day. Now they scrape by on film algae and the occasional nori sheet.
