sad day today

today i buried my best little buddy spike. im a very sad man.

every thing is spot on only thing i did was start dosing peroxide 5 days ago. have a feeling the peroxide did him in

come to find out my 7yr old daughter poured a bottle of perfume in the tank cause my skimmer smelled bad. my kenyas are looking really bad so are alot of my palys and gsp fish breathing heavy so did a 30%wc and added some carbon

things are better this am but unfortunately my palys/kenyas and fire red shrooms did not make it. woke up this am to find them all melted. my gsp have not opened back up so unsure of there fate at this time. lost 3 of my blue saphire damsels my 2 4 stripe damsels and my blue/green chromis.my clownfish and my cowfish seem to be doing better still havnt seen my trigger yet. mycleaner shrimp are also toast along with my bta my condy and my rockflower nem are also toast. really bummed out almost lost my whole tank. my daughter woke up crying saying she didnt mean to do it (thought perfume would make my skimmer smell better) super bumed but time to slowly get my collection back up somehow

Man that sucks. I love those sharks. I am really sorry to hear about all your losses. I have been there though. 15 years ago i left the hobby because of a catastrophy similar to this cause by my daughter. Just remember she had good intentions, and she will never do it again.

Might want to do another wc and try to dilute whatever else is left in the water. Sorry to hear about all the stuff you lost. I know when I lost my ghost eel I wanted to quit. He was skinny and got into my sump and into my skimmer. Nearly flooded the tank because something must have shorted out when he got stuck. Just give yourself a few days and then pick out something with your daughter so she knows you're not mad at her. Make a bonding experience out of what could be a horrible one for her.

Ahh man no way well hopefully some carbon and a good change will do the trick, sorry for your loss and hope things turn around for you.
