well that is $30 turned to crap (pun intended)

just bought a pair of the purple firefish today

i dont understand that firefish was a whole lot larger then the dwarf fuzzy lionfish.

no i am going to keep him but if he eats the other one then he will find his way somewhere not so nice.

Not trying to be a smartarse, but what did you expect? It's a Lionfish, for goodness sake.
Dave

Good thing it wasnt a Helfrichs firefish!!!.... I have 2

It was a bad decision to keep purple fires with lionfish at the first place.

That really sucks, but you didn't see this coming??? It is only a matter of time till he eats the other one.

i didnt really expect him to eat them as i was told that if the fish are smaller then the lionfish then he would eat them these guys are almost two as long as the lionfish.

expensive lesson learned

Did you seriously get your lion as a "hitch-hiker", as in an unexpected goody that you didn't pay for? If so, what did it come in/on?

FWIW, your other firefish will be eaten unless you keep the lion extremely well fed - even then I'd expect him to get bored and eat it over time.

ok so now comes my next question what is a good cheap fish to keep one or two in the tank just incase he gets bored and needs a fish to eat?

No messing way!!! That's freakin' awesome man! Best hitchiker I've ever seen for sure... less a Rhizo, but it was a teeny-tiny baby ;)

I worked for several LFS back in the day, and one time I was unpacking LR this thing fell out of a rock I picked up and landed in the box. I continued to unpack the rock and sift through the rubble picking out "good stuff" vs "bad stuff" only to find that the aforementiond thing that fell was a Blue-Ring Octopus (Hapalochlaena maculosa)! I was VERY glad to walk out of work that day... still breathing ;)

For cheap fish, my honest answer would be none. I do not like stealing any animal from the reef to knowingly send it to it's death. I think it's downright wrong.

If you feel the absolute need, add another dwarf lion, or chromis to be food.

i keep my fish well fed but i want something just incase.

what happened to that blue ring octopus?
