Had a regal angel in qt for the past 45 days. Got it eating within the first few days and then treated for flukes with general cure and then cp. The fish ate great no problem the whole time except occasional one/two days of hunger strikes here and there. Got it eating flakes, seaweed and reef frenzy. Was done with all treatments two weeks ago and was getting ready to add her to the display this week. But as of yesterday without any symptoms it became listless and wasn't swimming much and found it dead this morning. So sad

Not sure what happened. All water parameters in check! The fish was fat and seemed happy. Did a FW on the body for one hour and nothing came off. Did have some white feces attached to it which I had not seen before. Thinking if it was internal parasites that I missed?
just upset of losing her after doing so well in qt specially since they are extremely delicate. honestly I don't think I will be trying another one in the future. Shame, was a beautiful fish.

Sorry for your loss on such a beautiful fish. Gram Negative Bacterial infections can be real quick killers. :(

They are also very succeptable to infection. Tough fish to get through for sure.

Sorry for your loss.

There was no visual signs or symptoms to indicate any infections that I could tell. Body, face and eyes all looked fine; on the outside at least.
@Humblefish the feces was semi solid and clear white'sh in color the last day or two and not thin stringy white like I have usually encountered with signs of internal parasites. Also no loss of body weight and fish looked fat and healthy physically so I didn't associate it with internal parasites. Had no idea they can be such fast killers like I encountered in less then 24 hours. I wonder if all future fish should be treated with metra/focus as a routine preventative? Not sure if that would even have worked on the regal since it was really picky on what it ate to begin with but now I wish I had known and tried.

@lagatbezan I don't really try feeding prazi/metro soaked food while the fish are in meds, because I want them to keep eating as much as possible. However, once they have been moved to observation/conditioning, where I train them to eat flakes & pellets, I get them started on medicated foods.
