Sad day today people , my pink spotted grouper that ive had for around six months and got it taking food from my fingers , went after a bit of fish it missed and just rubbed itself against a carpet anemone. the anemone didnt hold onto it but the damage was done. horrible to watch.
I tried to hold it head first into the current in the tank incase it was just stunned but no it was dead. must be like an electric shock that instantly kills them.
starting to hate my carpet now , thats two nice fish its had. I know its only nature but expensive nature. think it will have to go in a tank on its own with some clowns.

Dang man sorry to hear! I never knew that's all it would take from a carpet anemone. Makes me rethink my plans for one.

think i will go for the silicone fake anemones in future, no probs there and i bet clowns will still host them too

sorry, that sux!! sounds like you need a big clown to keep the other fish away from the carpet nem


I know how you feel I had an onyx go carpet surfing yesterday (to bad it wasnt in a nem)
