Could the extreme temperature of this summer have caused STN that ive been experiencing for the last month.
At the beginning of july temperature went from 25.5 to 26.5 (average) then for 3 days at the end of july a high of 28.5 (my cooling fans couldn't hack it) then an average of 26 - 27 then about the end of sept back to 25.5
all degrees C of course.

Mine usually runs at 77-78 degrees. I have had mine swing to around 81 and it does seem to have Ill effects on my coral. Just my experience. Some corals and fish are more sensitive than others.

I dont think temperature that high is a problem. The real coral reef experience temperature related bleaching when they hit iirc 32 C for extended periods of time.

I keep my chiller at 26. When it hits 26.9 it kicks on. But if the room temp is say 27, your tank temp is probably closer to 30. Pumps are extremely hot plus the heat of the lights. Do you keep a thermometer on your tank?
