Hi all. I need a little help/advice.

My SIL ordered a Saddle Anemone and it arrived with a cut in it. We're looking to find out what we can do to help heal the poor thing up, or if it is even possible to do so.

It is currently in QT so we can do things to help it without hurting the DT.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd dose ciprofloxacin or another anti-bacterial so that the cut doesn't get infected it's usually the infections that kill the nems

Awesome. I will pass the information on.

If we avoid an infection the nem will heal itself I'm guessing? How long (average numbers I know it could vary) should we keep the nem in QT? Until the cut is completely healed?

Also, keep it on a normal day/night light cycle?

Yes if you were to move after treatment it would just stress him out treat him in a bare tank with just a power head a heater and something to spectate the anemone from the power and heater and dose fish flox (ciprofloxacin) at 250mg per 10 gallons treat for 7-10 days until healed do a 100% water change every 24 hours and dose re dose cipro at the night cycle because light depleates it you should watch the wound heal pretty quick with the water changes and cipro water changes are the most important you can get fish flox on eBay or get a prescription from your vet if they will give it to you is the same animals and humans take for bacterial infections you might have some laying around in the medicine cabinet hope this helps best of luck! Keep us updated post some pics :)

I had a red haddoni that my clowns loved so much put a cut in it. I never qted or treated w anything, got rid of the clowns and took a good year for the rip to heal. Now happy as could be!

Sadly the anemone died yesterday.

Thank you so much for all of your help and advice.
