SO were still in the build proccess of our tank but were working on doing our due diligence for our fish list. we are not exactly sure to exactly what type of coral we will keep. we are thinking most likely soft and maybe a couple LPS/SPS. would be nice to have a clam or two, will definitely have a some small shrimp, anemone, and possibly feather dusters

One of the fish we are considering is the saddleback butterfly fish. on live-aquaria it says that it is reef compatable with caution.

Therefore I need some feed back on what things this species typically picks on in the reef tank (i.e. macro-inverts, coral, clams..)

also, have you had one? and did it bother anything ( what things were missing form your tank that it might have bothered?
thanks all

As with any fish purchase, it is best to research its natural diet. No matter how long one has been on prepared foods majority will go back to their natural diet in the aquarium if available.

And it will most most certainly eat any softies/ lps and nip at sps and devour feather dusters.

A good site is here: http://animal-world.com/encyclo/marine/butter/SaddledButterflyfish.php
