Safe? Collected from beach- macroalge

I picked these up on the south shore of Long Island- not exactly sure what they are.
Are these safe for my tank? Rather in my sump?

Right now they are in a separate container with salt water


It looks like Gracilaria, but confirmation would be great :)

Looks like a Rhodophyte, red algae. The holdfasts are broken off, they really need that to grow properly. I've not had good luck growing them. There is also the issue that they could introduce other "things" into your tank. I wouldn't add it to your sump or main tank.

I bring some macroalgae home whenever I go to a beach. No problems at all, and I don't think there are too many bad things that could be introduced from it.
 
I tried wild caught myself and did not survive. I think it had to do with changing salinitys' due to tides as well as thermocline temps which it is used to
