So I am in the process of transferring the inhabitants of my BioCube to their new home and the last little guy to move is my Midas Blenny. Problem is that be won't leave his hole long enough for me to remove that particular rock so he can't get back into it. I tried to get him once and was unsuccessful, and now every time someone comes near the tank he won't leave his spot. He is still eating and healthy, he just won't leave his home since he knows it's eviction time.

I can't go the route of taking the whole rock and putting it into the new tank, as I don't want to introduce the crud on it to my fresh new tank. Any ideas on how to get him out?

I’d slowly lift the rock to the waterline/out of the water or even upside down and let him slip himself out. Should be much easier to bet with the rock out of the way as well.
