Looks like I have termites in my home. Yay. Anyone know of a safe way to treat termites with tanks in the house?

Thanks

If the house is to be tented, then there really is no terrific answer. I have heard in the past of people bagging off the tank with a fresh air source piped in. The doesn't sound like a great idea, but could work. Depending in the size of the tank, is it possible to move it temporarily? Would probably be a pain in the butt, but definitely safer for your fishy friends

Good news is I think I caught it early and found the source which is mostly in the garage. Definitely can't move the tank and I'll let the house be eaten before taking it down, lol. Not going to tent but was hoping something like orange oil or similar could be safely used to spot treat.

Just noticed you are here in the OC. Ground termites are very common here. Depending on how lucky you feel you really are, ground bait traps and marginally successful. Also keeping things like trees and shrubs off the house is also a good idea. Trees and shrubs act as a bridge into your house.
I have been there done that with moderate success. With termites in certain parts of the country, it's not if, it's when... With the weather changing from cold and wet to hot like it is now, I suspect many people are about to find out they have termites. A weather change like we are having now often triggers a swarm...

Ahh yes looks like I have ground termites that came up from cracks in the garage foundation and colonized on a piece of scrap wood I had lying around for a while. Guess I'll have someone come check them out to be safe.
