So my cycle recently finished after 33 days. Ammonia and nitrite were 0 after a 40% water change yesterday. Did another 40% water change this morning to try and reduce nitrate. Nitrate is currently 20. Can I add a pair of fish yet? Or should I do another water change to remove nitrate? My tank is a 20 gallon nano with about 15lbs of caribsea liferock and 30lbs of caribsea live sand.

If it was a really big tank I'd say it's iffy but I'd try it. But given it's a 20g tank, another water change should be fairly easy and I'd recommend doing it just to be on the safe side.

I think you will be good to go. Nitrates more issue with corals not so much with fish just for a good acclimation and do your scheduled water changes for nitrates .

Edit was your ammonia and nitrites zero before water change? If not cycle may not be completed regardless of WC should be no ammonia

Thanks. Only reason I didn't do a large like 90% water change is my faucet is slow so it takes me like 3 hours to make 5 gallons. Currently making more rodi water so ill do another like 50% water change

Good choice. I keep forgetting what it was like when making RO/DI was a slow process. My current system makes over 1200gpd! ;Wideyed

Yeah ammonia and nitrite were zero before WC

I had a friend who sold this system to me for $150. It came from a coffee shop that was going out of business. The old 75gpd hangs on the wall as a backup. The 2 stainless tubes are 24' long RO membranes and the pump make 120psi. The 40g tank next to it is RO/DI storage. I use a 180 well cistern for the reject water and then use it to do laundry. BTW, the wife asked me to do the laundry if I was going to have to pump reject water from the cistern to the washing machine. A small price to pay. ;)
