As I cant find the materials the Randy used in his diy 2 part I was seeing if this was an acceptable substitution for the calcium part

Dr Foster and Smith also sells the chemicals. You only need CaCl2 and MgCl2. MgSO4 is easily obtained as Epsom salt and baking soda from a grocery store is fine.
