Safe to use metal in tank?

Hello,

The previous owner of my tank put some epoxy on the rock to prevent some coral from growing, and I'd like to remove it. If it safe to use a screwdriver or similar to help pop it off, or is short exposure able to pull enough metal out to be harmful

Ppl use all kinds of metal tools daily without incident

Problems arise when metal is exposed in-tank for periods of days into weeks...

Meaning, you can work with a steel-metal screwdriver for hours in and out of the tank, no problem.

You drop the screwdriver and lose it in the tank and it lays there corroding for days into weeks.... problems with things dying will arise

I use a pair of metal tongs to move coral frags around without any issue.
