I love zoo's and paly's but I don't want to pay a bunch for one and watch it melt. I have seen a lot of I used to have 30 of these zoo's or paly's but they melted.

Is there a list of safe vs tempermental zoo's and paly's?

you can't go wrong with

eagle eyes
radio active dragon eyes
bam bams
tickle me pinks
green bay packers

Let me look at my tank later tonight lol there are many types taht do well

Or is the melting caused by tank changes

It could be a number of reasons, Tank params, Nudi's, etc. We can't keep Zoas either, they just melt away. Still have not found the source of the problem. Palys do great in our tank. We have not tried Zoas in about 7 months, we are about to try them again.

Funny you should say that Kerrysroxy I just lost my frag of bam bams to melting in a tank that has lots more expensive zoos that are doing just fine.

Sorry to hear that ! I am having a problem right now with my zoa tank as week speak.

I listed Bam Bams because generally they are easy also if they do die , they are cheap and wont break the bank

I can keep zoo's I just don't want to waste money on finicky corals. I would prefer to get the ones that have a high survival rate. please list examples of things you have done that caused zoo's to melt. That way the rest of us can avoid them.

Well I am giving a list based on my experience there is no "sure list" ever with any corals. Some will die and live , the ones I list are easy ones IMO, I would not get Darth Mauls not unless you get it from a colony with high survial rate.

Some more

PHE ringed
Fireballs
PD
NG
Fl zoas seem to do well for me
speckled PE's

I've never had much luck with Carribean zoas, particularly the blue ones, for some reason. They always start out well and then over time disappear polyp by polyp till there are none left. I have found eagle eyes, dragon eyes, radioactive dragon eyes and bam bams to be a safe bet with many moves and tank changes.
