Within about a week my new Waterbox 25 will be delivered. Dimensions are just under 24"x16" so I'll be building my stand as such. Now, I'd like the stand to be tall. I know 29"-30" is common for most pre built stands. I'd like to go to 36" or maybe even 40". With such a small frame I'm just worried about stability at those heights. I know we generally way overbuild our stuff so maybe it'll be fine. Appreciate any insight, recommendations or experience. Thanks.

This is as narrow (15”) and tall as can be for a reef tank(65gal), not ideal for corals and difficult to scape a narrow rock wall that allows the cleaning magnet to pass on both sides, believe me. I built this 40” stand in 1995, out of solid mahogany 2x4’s not standard but 2”x4”. It does have 2 anchors to the wall in the back corner, although I don’t think it’s necessary. It runs well and provides for stack sumps below. The paired 60 gal frags each have a 2x4 standard, 40” high stand. I dislike low stands, eye level for me, and lots of vertical space for dual stacked sumps. I have a 120 gal on a 40” stand as well.

Looks fantastic, and I love tall stands. But I also love looking down into tanks, so its all a compromise
