about two weeks ago, i bought a sailfin blenny for some hair algae growth that i had going. he does go around and pick at rocks, but he seems to continue going over the same ones through the day. he does not eat anythign else. nothing that i put in the tank, whether it be nori attached to a rock or algae clip, flake food, frozen food, etc. the only thing he will do is pick at rocks, which seems to not be enough as he goes over the same ones that he has done already multiple times that day. ive read that they are hit or miss sometimes with eating other foods, but i would had to see him die. hes an adult, so i dont think the road ahead is easy, but i am hoping to see if anyone has any tricks that they can think of, to get him to eat anything else that i can help supplement his diet so he doesnt starve to death.

Does it seem to be acting "normal" are far as swimming and breathing? If it's grazing I would just continue to feed to give him an option. I wouldn't panic unless the fish seemed stressed or skinny.

nah. everything is good. hes not stressed or anything. grazes through the day, but eventually that food source will not be enough, if it isnt enough already. at this point, with the grazing he is doing, i fear that he will eventually be skinny. its only 2 weeks in right now, and i dont see any kind of slimming yet, but i fear that its just a matter of time

im posting an update just in case anyone needs info on this in the future. almost 4 weeks ago, i bought this lawnmower blenny to help with algae. he immediately ate from the rock the bit that he could. but has not eaten anything i have given to the tank, or near him specifcally. ive even had crumbles hit him in the head, and he didnt even flinch. nori on a rock or clip...nothing would interest him for food, but he would pick off the rocks all day. problem is, i dont have enough to sustain him for his entire life unless i can supplement his food with something else as well.

well, come to today, after i fed the tank, i saw a flake go near him, and he took it. this is the first time i actually saw him actually take food that was added to the tank. so, i used my baster and put in some frozen type foods (i had to spot feed near him), but he took that too. hopefully, this is an ongoing thing.
