Help needed, I have this Sailfin Tang in a quarantine tank for 2 weeks with Copper Power at 2.5 ppm. He has recently developed what looks like hazy fins he did not have this when I originally got him. Is this possibly ich or velvet if so how can he get it in quarantine with copper at 2.5 ppm. He still need another 2 weeks in copper and then 2 weeks in prazipro. Any advice will be appreciated. Please see picture

Looks to me like velvet but body shows spots which may be ich (can use closer pics)
I also see development of lateral line erosion which may be due to part from water quality and diet deficiencies
How are you monitoring copper level as well as ammonia?

He does not have any other spots on his body. He is eating very well an assortment of different frozen foods. The lateral line was there when I purchased him. His colors and fin extension is great. Copper being monitored with Hanna HR

How can it be possible that the Tang developed ich while in copper power at 2.50 ppm after 2 weeks. He had no spot nor he scratched until after the 2 weeks in quarantine. Any ideas what happen. I monitor the copper levels and have not allowed it to drop below 2.50ppm

Tomorrow will be 1 month with copper power at 2.5 ppm. I did a General Cure on Monday and 2nd treatment today. Now all the fish in quarantine are scratching not just the sailfin tang. I have a Lawn Mower Blenny, a Six Line Wrasse, and the Sailfin tang. Should I continue copper over one month or should I stop tomorrow. It does not look like the copper has done anything to make it better.

If it’s isolated to the tail only, then it’s not Ich. Esp if it doesn’t fall off/disappear after 1-2 days. I would continue the copper treatment and see how your 2nd treatment of General cure help out with the scratching.

not sure your temp but I would make sure it’s 90-82 to speed up any parasite life cycle.
