hi I have a new sail fin I’ve had him for a week or two now in my 220 gallon. He came with these two spots on his head one on each side so I thought that’s just how he looked but now they are getting bigger and I’m getting worried.

HLLE? He looks a little pale too... how is he eating? Do you use carbon?

^^i agree with HLLE you need to offer highly nutritious foods like Nori sheets, mysis, etc.
discontinue carbon and keep pristine water. With those boxes checked it should heal.

He eats great I feed rods frozen food a mix of the original and herbivore blend. And given rods food algea sheets and he eats those like crazy.I have never run carbon and my tank has everything within permitters.

Zoecon is a vitamin specifically formulated to treat HLLE. Just a few drops mixed in with a mix of frozen food works pretty good. Make a "smoothie" from several different frozen foods: mysis, brine, krill, seaweed, chopped clams, mussels, etc. Take one cube of each. Place into the fridge to allow the cubes to "slump." Pour off the excess liquid. And then strain the remaining excess liquid. Mix with a few drops of Zoecon. The mix will stay fresh in the fridge for a few days.

should I remove him from my DT
It should be fine. The Zoecon supplies some of the natural sponge proteins, vitamins and fats the fish feeds upon in the wild and is missing from prepared foods.
