Video of Tang

It so weird because I know everyone will say ICH but this looks like eggs attached to the tail. They’re all grouped up and have a clear film around them that’s hard to see if you’re not in person.
I’ve looked all over the internet and have never seen this.

Any ideas???

Often referred to as cauliflower, may be lymphocystis or a fin ray issue especially seeing a clear bite mark on the tail

Yeah my Lieutenant tang did not like him when I first introduced (about a month ago) but now they’re best friends. From my quick google search it seems this will never go away?

It is pretty weird looking, but I think it is just atypical Lymphocystis. Did this grow in size over time?

It should. Your job is to help it by maintaining Good water quality and diet
What foods are you offering the tangs?

Honestly it appeared overnight (at least I believe so because I keep a close eye on them)

Water quality has been stable and number are good. They eat frozen mysis, 1-2 sheets of Red or green seaweed that has garlic in it (depending on how much they eat the first one), also give pellets that are high in nutrients and garlic as well.

Having now 26 tangs, this is an insufficient diet as they need meats, vegetation , fats and aminos
Some foods to offer are :
LRS herbivore diet
Formula 2 flake and frozen
TDO Pellets
small plankton
Hikari Marine cuisine
Ocean nutrition veggie diet
spirulina brine shrimp
Prime reef

How are you testing water and what are your numbers?

I will look into ordering some of those food. Can you elaborate on each one of it is a frozen, pellet or flake? There’s lots of options when i looked them up. Also, what would your feeding schedule recommendation be?

Other than TDO pellets, rest are frozen version

Phos is a little high. You want .06-.1

Yeah, my phos was at 0 and I need a little bit for corals and anemone so I dosed half of recommended amount and it brought it up to .2.
Will be doing water change in the next day or two to help bring that down.
Next time I’m in my LFS I’ll look at the frozen foods they have.
Do you mix them all or just switch it up everyday?

I give a mixed variety nightly
