Salgado Aquatics Is For Sale

I'm pretty bummed. Juan and Cynthia, the owners of Salgado Aquatics are selling their store in Thornwood and opening up a new one in Texas. Assuming it sells, I can't imagine the new owners will keep the stock so high quality, and for such good prices. I just have to imagine their prices are going to go way up. People are greedy.

From my conversations with Juan, he plans to set up the new owner with all his suppliers. Could be a great deal for someone with the right business sense and personality!

I just hope they don't jack up the prices. It'll be nice to have access to the same quality corals, but it won't be so enticing if they shoot up in price.

Fingers crossed it works out for the best.

And, honestly, the price is enticing. If I had time, I think I would buy it.

It is, I bought a 4 fish a couple weeks ago. Just an hour drive each way for me. They are only open 4 days a week and 3 hours on one of the days (sunday).

Pretty sure it closed down. Only running the TX store and online. Shame. I got all my fish from there. Great selection and unbeatable prices.

me too. tons of fish bought there over the years. Last 2 fish i got one was infected as hell though and nearly wiped out everyone in my tank. Only 4 survived. QT from now on! Live and learn!!

I too have noticed only texas store ads over the last month or so. I understand they had emplyee issues with NY location. I called a couple of times and never an answer

I'd only seen one guy working there. Probably was too much for just him to handle. I love that place... I entertained buying into it. Would have been so cool.

Yeah, was just the one young guy who was in over his head. I got an email couple months back of him trying to sell the store again for a second time but I don’t think he got any takers and just packed it in to focus on this store in TX.
