Salifert new calcium test kit wont turn blue

I have the new version of saliferts calcium test kit, the 2 part one. I have tested alk(hanna) and mag(salifert) and both are within the expected range for the salt i'm using but the calcium kit just wont go blue from pink, even with 2ml of the ca-2. So either I have over 1000ppm of calcium or I'm doing something wrong with the test kit.

I add 2ml of tank water then add 1 spoonfull of ca-1. Draw up 1ml of ca-2 and slowly drain it down to 0.4 swirl for 5 seconds (it goes pink) then slowly drip while strirring for a second between each drip. It just stays pink. Even for 2ml of ca-2.

Maybe its a faulty kit but it goes from blue to pink originally so it seems to work somewhat atleast.
Also the tank is still cycling and at around 5ppm nitrites if that could effect the test somehow.

EDIT: also something I noticed is my ca-2 bottle is the old dropper style where as pictures I saw of the new 2 step kit shows the ca-2 with the red cap, maybe thats the cause?

Ask them to send you a new test kit I've had hood luck with their customer service, can't speak for everyone else

So I ordered another test kit on amazon to compare with and straight away I noticed a red cap on ca-2 instead of the dropper cap I got sent from marineaquatics.co.uk, tested and it resulted in 445ppm of calcium. So I reckon someone at marineaquatics swapped out some of the ca-2 from a older calcium kit back when it was a 3 part kit.

Imagine losing a customer willing to spend thousands on your shop over a 10 pound test kit, also ordered all my other test kits from them so hopefully they never tampered with those also. (the nyos nitrate test had a tamper seal atleast.)
