Have anyone been using their test kit without the pink tip? I have, and I just read a post earlier today that the tip must be used with the syringe. All this time I've been using just the syringe to draw the solution. Though I get all the bubbles out before drawing to the 1ml mark. Now, this makes me really curious. I just ran out of Alk. solution and wondering how off my numbers really are. :ooh:

Hmmm... never done that myself. I would be curious to see what your numbers look like when you get the new kit compared to your previous tests. I cannot imagine that your results were skewed by much and stability is the most important thing.

The readings with the tip are more precise. I would suggest running it with the tip on as well. Most if not all the time, you will not use all of the solution that is in the syringe unless your OD on whatever it is your testing. So yeah, no need to worry about the air in the syringe. From my tests against the solution they have, its off about what they say on the bottle.

The volume would be the same when drawing the solution into the syringe with or without the tip I believe, but the drops out of the tip are smaller and thus give better control to see when the test solution changes color.Def more accurate w tip on

Anyways, I checked with my Calcium kit, used the syringe with the tip and one without, got the same results. As Shores805 mentioned, using the tip does give a more precise control over the droplets. I feel so relieved.
