Salifert syringes

All of my salifert syringes are fading and what good is a test kits that I can’t even read. Where can I find a replacement to the 1ml salifert syringes?

This has been a problem for years. I don’t know why they don’t use a better ink or something. Unfortunately I can’t help with a source for replacement syringes, but one tip that I saw years ago was to take a piece of scotch tape and run it up the side of the syringe to cover the markings. That will protect them and stop them from fading.

Get any 'tuberculin 1 ml syringe without the luer lock - I think then you can use the tip with the salifert test on it. Any pharmacy will have them. Whether you need a prescription to get them I dont know.

Most plastic syringes markings come off with use. Just put some scotch tape over the markings and they will not wear off.

This is a good idea:)...I dont know if scotch tape affects the tests - and seems like it would peel off eventually - but - it made me think of something - clear nail polish should do the trick.

I work with plastic syringes every day and I can tell you they will all do that. They are designed for single use medical purposes so longevity of the printing is not usually important. That said, my reagent usually runs out a lot sooner than the markings on my syringes do. I have a bunch of syringes I keep in a zip lock bag from used up test kits that I use if I lose one from a current test kit.

Go to CVS or Equivalent local drug store and ask the pharmacy, mine had 1ml,5ml, and 10 ml. These are usually used for mouth stuff like flushing a wisdom tooth hole while it’s healing. I always break out my phone to show them pictures so they don’t get the idea that I am a junky or something[emoji2] they are usually free

I didn’t make this post to complain and I get that the ink is bound to wear off but you would think that for a test that depends on you reading the syringe accurately that they would use a higher quality syringe haha but regardless thank you guys for finding me a replacement
